17 days/16 nights complete above and below Bali diving holiday.
7 diving days, (27 dives), 10 non-diving days, guided land tours and activities.
This is a SAMPLE itinerary,
a 17 days’ trip to show what we believe would be a great holiday for you and your partner. However, you can ask us to compose your very own “a la carte” holiday. Shorter, longer, more or less diving, with the emphasis on culture or nature, active or slow and lazy…
You name it, we take care of it.
DAY 1: WELCOME – SEMINYAK
Meet and greet at Ngurah Rai Airport of Denpasar Bali upon your arrival and transfer to your villa at The Seri Suites in Seminyak. Welcome drink with your dive guide (dive-master or instructor), your tour leader and your driver. Enjoy a good night’s rest.
DAY 2: SEMINYAK – PEMUTERAN
Today you travel to Pemuteran, your first Dive around Bali-destination. You take advantage of the long journey to visit some gorgeous and interesting farming areas and you will enjoy the spectacular, famous rice terrace views of Bali. We organized a little educational program for you where you discover and learn about Bali’s village life and traditional farming. Check in at your hotel in Pemuteran, a small laid back fishing village on the northern coast of West Bali. You will stay at Taman Sari Bali Resort & Spa, a relaxed oceanfront resort surrounded by tranquil gardens and ponds.
DAY 3: PEMUTERAN – MENJANGAN (3 dives)
Lets go diving! Today’s program is a day trip to the national marine park of Menjangan Island. You are off for three boat dives around the Island. There are about fourteen dive sites to choose from, all with clear water and calm conditions. Lunch is on the boat in between the dives. Later you can visit the turtle hatchery in Pemuteran, a Reef Seen Aquatics project with the local village to help the plight of sea turtles.
DAY 4: PEMUTERAN
Discover West Bali National Park and see the inhabitants of savanna, mangrove and forest, guided by an experienced park ranger. The terrain and landscape of the Bali Barat National Park largely consists of monsoon forest and savanna. Lush mangrove vegetation also occupies some of its coastal area along the bay of Banyuwedang and Gilimanuk, Prapat Agung peninsula and Menjangan Island. Characterized by small annual rainfall, much less from the rest of Bali particularly the south, the Park displays beautifully, distinct nature both in flora and fauna. To explore its unique terrain and wildlife, trekking inside the Park can truly be a discovery. After your trekking you can relax with a massage in the resort.
In the afternoon you can choose to go horseback riding on the beach or to do a temple tour.
DAY 5: PEMUTERAN – AMED (3 dives)
Today you will start early in the morning on your way to the east. The first dive is close to Lovina: Puri Jati or PJ, a quiet recently discovered phenomenal muck dive site. Second and third dive will be on Monkey Reef in Kubu, just before Tulamben. After the dives you continue your journey further east towards Amed. Your accommodation for the next couple of days will be Puri Wirata.
DAY 6: AMED
Today you will be taken for a village discovery ride on the back of a motorbike. See how the daily life of the villagers in Jemeluk, Bunutan, Lipah and Selang look like, enjoy the waving children along the road, visit the hard working salt farmers and the five Holy Springs on the eastern slope of Gunung Seraya, called Toye Masem. You will have lunch along the road.
DAY 7: AMED – TULAMBEN (3/4 dives)
Early in the morning, you will travel towards Tulamben, home to the world famous Liberty Wreck. The wreck is a very popular dive site, but still rewarding, especially because we will dive it before the other divers arrive. Second dive will be on Tulamben’s Drop Off, a wall with a nice craggy structure that is exceedingly rich. Third dive will be at Paradise Reef, a beautiful coral garden and muck dive site in one. Complimentary fourth dive: a night dive on the Liberty Wreck. Lunch is in Tulamben in between the dives.
DAY 8: AMED (3/4 dives)
The beaches of Amed are lined with colorful Jukung fishing boats that sail each morning at sunrise and return later to unload their catch.
Today you will dive around Amed, from a small jukung, the traditional, colorful, little fishing boat, an interesting area with great potential and few divers. Bunutan is actually the name of the village in front of this very special dive site. The second dive will be on Jemeluk Wall, actually a reef slope combined with a wall at the site of the quiet and idyllic Jemeluk bay. There is always a possibility for a pelagic encounter here. Third dive on Kungkang Reef a dive on a slope with a unique artificial reef on the sandy bottom. You will have lunch between the dives. Complementary 4th dive: a night dive from the shore.
DAY 9: AMED – UBUD
Yesterday you did a Jukung Dive. This morning discover it’s real purpose and join a local fisherman on a sunrise fishing trip out on sea.
Transfer to Ubud, as the cultural capital of Bali, a very interesting non-diving destination. During the trip we make a stop at Sidemen, a traditional weaving village amidst stunning rice fields and at Goa Gajah, the elephant temple. Check in at your hotel, Arma Resort, one of the biggest representatives of Balinese culture on the Island, with the big Arma Museum attached. You can visit the museum and later you will appreciate a complimentary traditional dance performance, a spectacular and colorful event, always accompanied by a live gamelan orchestra.
DAY 10: UBUD
Choose your favorit activity: discover the beautiful surroundings of Ubud while cycling or trekking, watch the exotic birds of Asia in the Bali Bird Park, learn more about the culture of Bali by joining a cultural workshop, discover new spices and tastes by joining an Indonesian cooking class or be amazed by the landscape while rafting the Ayung river. The choice really is yours.
As an extra we offer you a pampering with a spa treatment given by the professional hands of your therapist.
DAY 11: UBUD – CANDIDASA
Early in the morning before sunrise you engage on “The Golden Hour Tour”. A new experience to rediscover the art of traditional living and heritage of Bali …
After lunch we move to our last diving area and base ourselves five nights at East Bali Villa’s. The villas are part of a small waterside enclave of just 7 private houses. All villas are owner managed, by a group of like-minded individuals who support philanthropic initiatives; locally, island wide, and nationally; including The East Bali Poverty Project and Habitat for Humanity Indonesia. In the afternoon we visit Tenganan, a “Bali Aga” village of traditional Balinese people and home of the exquisite “double ikat” weaving.
DAY 12: CANDIDASA – PADANG BAI (3 dives)
After off-gassing during your three days of non-diving it is time to get in the water again. Your two morning dives in Blue Lagoon or Tanjung Sari delivers easy diving in a shallow area, not so rich in coral growth but with an amazing number of special critters and different species of shark. You can have a night dive as well here, because it is a terrific night dive site.
In the afternoon, you will visit the ancient Kertha Gosha, the Court House of the old kingdom, in Klungkung. You will visit The Gunarsa Museum of Classical and Modern Art that features many elements of Balinese Artistic and cultural heritage. Then see Goa Lawah (Bat Cave), a temple built in front of a cave inhabited by thousand of bats.
DAY 13: CANDIDASA
In the morning you hike through the rice fields of Tirtagangga. This is a great area of Bali in which to walk, with many small roads and paths to explore.
Afterwards, cool down in the water palace of Tirtagangga, a lovely maze of pools and fountains surrounded by a lush garden, stone carvings and statues.
DAY 14: PADANGBAI – NUSA PENIDA (2 dives)
You will do two boat dives around Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Penida. The water is colder here and the dives can be challenging. You have a great chance to encounter the illustrious Mola Mola (especially from mid August to mid October). Typically the dives have stunning visibility, healthy reefs and pelagics. Lunch is between the dives. Maybe we can give does Mantas a go…
After the diving, a massage is what awaits you both.
DAY 15: CANDIDASA (3 dives)
Today is your last day of diving and you will finish in style. The diving in this area is astonishingly rich, but has also very strong currents and cool water (5mm wetsuit!). You will do three dives in Amuk Bay, Candidasa. Depending on the conditions (e.g. currents) you will dive around the small islands of Tepekong, Mimpang or Biaha. You and your dive guide will take a speedboat from Padang Bai to reach the different dive sites in Candidasa. There is plenty of choice in Amuk Bay and the dive sites are very varied.
DAY 16: CANDIDASA – SANUR
Breakfast at your hotel and morning transfer to the south, to Sanur. Check in your hotel Griya Santrian in Sanur. Visit the temple of Uluwatu in the afternoon with your guide and see the fire dance while the sun is going down. You will be treated to a famous fresh fish barbecue on the beach of Jimbaran. Sweet dreams on your last night in the “Morning of the world”.
