Dive around Bali with kids day to day.

17 days/16 nights complete diving holiday around Bali and kids fun.

10 diving days, (26 dives), 7 non-diving days for the parents, land activities, kids activities, guided land tours.

This is a SAMPLE itinerary,

a 17 days’ trip to show what we believe would be a great holiday for you and your family. However, you can ask us to compose your very own “a la carte” holiday. One child wants the dive, the other one wants to climb, and another one loves terrestrial animals. You want to dive, your partner loves snorkeling or horseback riding…

You name it, we take care of it.

Meet and greet at Ngurah Rai Airport of Denpasar Bali upon your arrival and transfer to your villa at Vivalavi in Kerobokan.

Welcome drink with your dive guide (dive-master or instructor) and your tour leader. You and the kids will also be introduced to the babysitter who will take care of the youngsters during your holiday on Bali together. Our babysitter is always available for your kids and is not just a sitter. Balinese love children and they will play with the young ones, entertain and guide them. Also in the evening when you would long for a private evening or a romantic dinner, our sitter will look after the children. By the end of their holiday, they will have gained a new Balinese friend.

Let’s spoil the kids right away with a visit to the Waterbom Park in Kuta, a ‘wet’ amusement park fit for all ages. It is a great place for the whole family to start your holiday. Lunch will be in the park. Dinner at your hotel or at a restaurant of your choice. Your driver can take you anywhere you want.

Today we transfer you to Pemuteran, a small laid back fishing village on the northern coast of West Bali. We take advantage of the long journey to visit some gorgeous and interesting farming areas and you will enjoy the spectacular, famous rice terrace views of Bali. We organized a little educational program for you where you discover and learn about Bali’s village life and traditional farming. Check in at your hotel in Pemuteran, Amertha Bali Villa’s, where you share a nice, charming villa with the family and have your own private little pool.

Parents, lets go diving! Leave the offspring behind to have there own fun. Today’s program is a day trip to the national marine park of Menjangan Island. You are off for three boat dives around the Island. There are about fourteen dive sites to choose from, all with clear water and calm conditions. Lunch is between the dives.

While mum and dad are diving, the kids go with the sitter to enjoy pony- or horseback riding on the beach. If the kids are old enough and like to go snorkeling instead, with guidance, it’s up to them. You meet each other again at your villa and go to visit the turtle hatchery in Pemuteran together, a Reef Seen Aquatics project with the local village to help the plight of sea turtles.

DAY 5: PEMUTERAN – AMED (2 dives)

Today you will start early in the morning on your way to the east. The first dive is close to Lovina: Puri Jati, a quiet recently discovered phenomenal muck dive site. The kids can just stay on the beach here and have a go at fabricating their own kite. Like almost all things on Bali, kites have a religious or spiritual meaning. Second dive will be on Monkey Reef in Kubu, just before Tulamben. After the dive you continue your journey further east towards Amed, a charming little fishing village. Your accommodation for the next couple of days will be Puri Wirata.

DAY 6: AMED (2/3 dives)

Today you will dive around Amed, from a small jukung (the traditional, colorful, little fishing boat), an interesting area with great potential and few divers. Bunutan is actually the name of the village in front of this very special dive site. The second dive will be on Jemeluk Wall, actually a reef slope combined with a wall at the site of the quiet and idyllic Jemeluk bay. There is always a possibility for a pelagic encounter here. A third shore dive can be done as you wish (late afternoon or night).

Today the children that are old enough are in for a very special experience: their first breath under water. Depending on their age they can start a discover scuba diving course, do a bubblemaker program or have snorkeling lessons. An ideal location is the sheltered bay of Jemeluk and of course they will be guided by one of our experienced instructors. You will have lunch between the dives together with the kids. The younger ones just stay with the sitter and have fun with the always-laughing local children and adults alike.

DAY 7: AMED – TULAMBEN (3/4 dives in Tulamben)

Early in the morning, you will travel towards Tulamben, home to the world famous Liberty Wreck. The wreck is a very popular dive site, but still rewarding, especially because we will dive it before the other divers arrive. Second dive will be on Tulamben’s Drop Off, a wall with a nice craggy structure that is exceedingly rich. Third dive will be at Paradise Reef, a beautiful coral garden and muck dive site in one. Complimentary 4th dive: a night dive on the Liberty Wreck.

The children can snorkel along on all of these dive sites. They can even see the wreck while snorkeling. It rarely happens that one can enjoy a ‘wreck-snorkel’, but this is a perfect one. The highest point of the wreck is as shallow as 2 meter.

If they are old enough they can continue what they have started yesterday and become a real (junior) open water diver (courses are not included in safari price). Today could be the second day of their open water course. The next couple of days there will be some theory as well, some quizzes and a final exam. So it is a bit like school, only it is the coolest school they have ever been to.

DAY 8: AMED (2/3 dives)

Another day of diving in the Amed area. In front of Cafe Garam there is an interesting muck dive site accessible from the beach. Your second dive is one from a jukung on Kungkang Reef a dive on a slope with a unique artificial reef on the sandy bottom. Complimentary third shore dive in Jemeluk Bay (late afternoon or night).

The kids will join the fisherman on his jukung for a sailing trip along the shore together with their guide. They can go fishing or snorkeling along the ride. You will have lunch between the dives together with the kids. In the afternoon a local craftsman will help them to make their own miniature jukung boat.

The youth that started a course earlier will continue with their diving adventure instead of doing today’s other activities.

DAY 9: AMED – UBUD (2 dives)

Breakfast at your hotel in Amed. Your two last dives in the Amed area. Depending on conditions we dive two sites called Deep Blue and the Japanese shipwreck.  Or we can go to do two dives in Seraya Secrets: a notorious muck diving site with seahorse, frogfish, harlequin shrimp and a great number of nudibranch species.

Transfer to Ubud, as the cultural capital of Bali, a very interesting non-diving destination. During the trip we make a stop at Sidemen, a traditional weaving village amidst stunning rice fields and at Goa Gajah, the elephant temple. Check in at your hotel, Arma Resort, one of the biggest representatives of Balinese culture on the Island, with the big Arma Museum attached. You can visit the museum and later you will appreciate a complimentary traditional dance performance, a spectacular and colorful event, always accompanied by a live gamelan orchestra.

Visit the monkeys in Monkey Forest in the morning. It is interesting how these monkeys have chosen to live so close to the city. On the other hand, they are protected by the sacred forest and by everyone offering them food.

For the continuation of your day, select your favorite activity you would like to do today together as a family: discover the beautiful surroundings of Ubud while cycling or trekking, watch the exotic birds of Asia in the Bali Bird Park, learn more about the culture of Bali by joining a cultural workshop, discover new spices and tastes by joining an Indonesian cooking class or be amazed by the landscape while rafting the Ayung river, or even send of the kids with their sitter and pamper yourself with a spa treatment given by the professional hands of your therapist. The choice really is yours.

After checking out of the hotel you will ride through unworldly beauty – natural rice paddies, quaint Balinese villages, temples and local markets – on the scenic drive to Bali Elephant Camp, located in the historic village of Carangsari. There you engage on an elephant ride adventure trek through the forest. These are amongst the last Sumatran elephants on the island. They live in a beautiful park and you can join them for a ride in their territory. After lunch you travel to your last diving area and base yourselves four nights at the ecotourism villas of Bloo Lagoon in Padang Bai, near Candidasa. Free afternoon.

Breakfast in your hotel. After off-gassing during your two days of non-diving it is time to get in the water again. You will do two boat dives around Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Penida. The water is colder (5mm wetsuit!) here and the dives can be challenging. You have a chance to encounter the illustrious Mola Mola (especially from mid August to mid October). Typically the dives have stunning visibility, healthy reefs and pelagics. Lunch is between the dives on the boat.

The kids are taken out snorkeling and later are off to explore the area with the sitter and a local guide, like a visit to Charlie’s chocolate factory (really!). (The young students will finish their course today.)

DAY 13: PADANG BAI (2 dives)

In the morning hike through the rice fields. This is a great area of Bali in which to walk, with many small roads and paths to explore. Then cool down in Tirtagangga’s water palace, a lovely maze of pools and fountains surrounded by a lush garden  with stone carvings and statues. The family has lunch together on site.

You will do two dives at Blue Lagoon, Padang Bai in the afternoon. Blue Lagoon or Tanjung Sari is an easy dive in a shallow area, not so rich in coral growth but with an amazing number of special critters and different species of shark. By choice you can have a night dive as well here, being a terrific night dive site.

The kids who are certified divers by now can have their first dives as real divers with mum and dad and join on the boat to go diving as a family today (complimentary after finishing an open water course). Or the kids choose to go snorkeling or have some fun in the resort.

Another two boat dives around Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Penida are on the program today with lunch on the boat.

Again the kids can choose out of a wide range of fun and educational activities to do together with the sitter.

DAY 15: PADANG BAI – GIANYAR (2 dives)

is your last day of diving and you will finish in style. The diving in this area is astonishingly rich, but has also very strong currents and cool water (5mm wetsuit!). You will do two dives in Amuk Bay, Candidasa. Depending on the conditions (e.g. currents) you will dive around the small islands of Tepekong, Mimpang or Biaha. You and your dive guide will take a speedboat from Padang Bai to reach the different dive sites in Candidasa. There is plenty of choice in Amuk Bay and the dive sites are very varied. Lunch is after the dives.

After this challenging morning with your last dives we transfer everybody to see wild animals of the Bali Safari & Marine Park. Jump in to the bus to take a journey into the nature and see wild animals roaming around the jungle and savannah. Your hotel, the Mara River Safari Lodge, is located in the Bali Safari and Marine Park and from your room you can actually watch the animals. Holiday adventures should be fun, which Bali Safari and Marine Park provides in full measure, as well as its more profound and enduring mission of conservation. It might be hard to get the kids to bed tonight.

Breakfast at your hotel in the Safari Park. You have the whole day to explore the Park. Wild animals from the jungle, an educational elephant show, beautiful marine animals from your beloved ocean, a fun zone with water-park, roller coasters and boats, … Discover, learn, enjoy.

Today’s farewell dinner in the park restaurant is included and another night with animals at your window.

Before you leave the island of the gods, and us, we meet again for a departure drink with dive guide, tour leader and driver/guide on land. Transfer to the airport and we wish you a very good and safe trip home, savouring your memories.
