This is a SAMPLE itinerary. Changes can and will be made according to weather, sea conditions, tides or occasional Indonesian unpredictabilities. Hotels and restaurants are subject to availability, and changes can be made to locations of equal or similar quality.

Meet and greet at Ngurah Rai Airport of Denpasar Bali upon your arrival and transfer to your villa at The Seri Suites in Seminyak.

Welcome drink with your dive guide (dive-master or instructor), your tour leader and your driver/guide on land. Enjoy a good night’s rest.

Today we transfer you to Pemuteran, your first Dive around Bali-destination.

We take advantage of the long journey to visit some gorgeous and interesting farming areas and you will enjoy the spectacular, famous rice terrace views of Bali. Check in at your hotel in Pemuteran, a small laid back fishing village on the northern coast of West Bali. Mimpi Resort Menjangan is set on the shore of a lagoon-like bay in the northwestern coast of Bali neighboring the Bali Barat National Park and the famous diving site of Menjangan Island. To tune you in to the tropical rhythm, we treat you with a massage. Tomorrow your separate adventures begin.

Lets go diving! Today’s program is a day trip to the national marine park of Menjangan Island. Leave your partner behind for the day, who will have different fun and adventure. You are off for three boat dives around the Island. There are about fourteen dive sites to choose from, all with clear water and calm conditions. Lunch is in between the dives.  Make a tour of a local pearl farm to upgrade knowledge and understanding about pearl production. And it also offers a unique opportunity to purchase pearls directly, resulting in the best value for money and quality. After lunch enjoy horseback riding on the beach of Pemuteran or opt for a guided temple tour in the area. If you like to go snorkeling instead, it’s up to you. Either activity is included in your trip price. You meet each other again at your villa to discuss your day and visit the turtle hatchery in Pemuteran together, a Reef Seen Aquatics project with the local village to help the plight of sea turtles.

DAY 4: PEMUTERAN – MENJANGAN (2 dives) – GILIMANUK (2 dives)

The diver takes another trip to the national marine park of Menjangan Island, for two more boat dives in the morning. After lunch we are off to discover Secret Bay, almost laughable to call this bay a secret though. Gilimanuk is where the ferry to and from Java lands, the bay is amongst the best-mapped parts of Bali’s inshore waters and this peculiar muck dive site is known since many years.

The non-diver will do some trekking in West Bali National Park to see the inhabitants of savanna, mangrove and forest, guided by an experienced park ranger The terrain and landscape of the Bali Barat National Park largely consists of monsoon forest and savanna. Lush mangrove vegetation also occupies some of its coastal area along the bay of Banyuwedang and Gilimanuk, Prapat Agung peninsula and Menjangan Island. Characterized by small annual rainfall, much less from the rest of Bali particularly the south, the Park deserves distinct nature both in flora and fauna. To explore its unique terrain and wildlife, trekking inside the Park can truly be a discovery. Depending on physical capacity, we arrange park-trekking ranging from two up to five hours. After your trekking you can relax in the resort.

You meet again at your hotel for dinner.

DAY 5: PEMUTERAN – AMED (2 dives)

Breakfast at your hotel in Pemuteran. Transfer from Pemuteran to Amed, a charming little fishing village.

Today you will start early in the morning on your way to the east. The first dive is close to Lovina: Puri Jati or PJ, a quiet recently discovered phenomenal muck dive site. Second dive will be on Monkey Reef in Kubu, just before Tulamben. After the dives you continue your journey further east towards Amed. Your accommodation for the next couple of days will be Puri Wirata

During the first dive you can relax and enjoy a massage on the beach. While your partner is doing his second dive you can already continue to the hotel in Amed.

DAY 6: AMED (3 dives)

Today you will dive around Amed, from a small jukung (the traditional, colorful, little fishing boat), an interesting area with great potential and few divers. Bunutan is actually the name of the village in front of this very special dive site. The second dive will be on Jemeluk Wall, actually a reef slope combined with a wall at the site of the quiet and idyllic Jemeluk bay. There is always a possibility for a pelagic encounter here.  Third dive on Kungkang Reef a dive on a slope with a unique artificial reef on the sandy bottom. You will have lunch between the dives.

Today you will be taken for a village discovery ride on the back of a motorbike today. See how the daily life of the villagers in Jemeluk, Bunutan, Lipah and Selang look like, enjoy the waving children along the road, visit the hard working salt farmers and the five Holy Springs on the eastern slope of Gunung Seraya, called Toye Masem. You will have lunch along the road.

Both of you will meet again at your hotel in Amed for dinner.

DAY 7: AMED – TULAMBEN (3/4 dives)

Early in the morning, you will travel towards Tulamben, home to the world famous Liberty Wreck. The wreck is a very popular dive site, but still rewarding, especially because we will dive it before the other divers arrive. Second dive will be on Tulamben’s Drop Off, a wall with a nice craggy structure that is exceedingly rich. Third dive will be at Paradise Reef, a beautiful coral garden and muck dive site in one. Complimentary fourth dive: a night dive on the Liberty Wreck. Lunch is in Tulamben in between the dives.

You can be taken out for a snorkeling trip in Tulamben where your partner is diving. You can snorkel along on all of these dive sites. You can even see the wreck while snorkeling. It rarely happens that one can enjoy a ‘wreck-snorkel’, but this is a perfect one. The highest point of the wreck is as shallow as 2 meter. Your second option is staying at your resort and enjoy a spa treatment at the resort spa.

DAY 8: AMED (3/4 dives)

Another day of diving in the Tulamben area. Dive Batu Kelibit and Alam Anda. On your way back to Amed, discover Cafe Garam, an interesting muck dive site accessible from the beach. This site is still unspoiled, and few divers venture here. We like to keep it tat way. One dive wasn’t enough to count the stonefish and mimics? Go in again for a late afternoon or night dive.

A challenging climb to the temple of Lempuyang Luhur with its 1700 steps stairway is what awaits you today. Lempuyang Luhur temple is a sacred temple that is located on the top of Belibis Hill, northeast of Mount Agung, a short ride from Amed. Lempuyang is one of the six major Temple in Bali. You will be rewarded with extra-ordinary views. You will have lunch along the trip.

DAY 9: AMED – UBUD (2 dives)

Breakfast at your hotel in Amed. Your two last dives in the Amed area. Depending on conditions we dive two sites called Deep Blue and the Japanese shipwreck.  Or we can go to do two dives in Seraya Secrets: a notorious muck diving site with seahorse, frogfish, harlequin shrimp and a great number of nudibranch species.

While waiting on your partner to return from the last diving day in Amed you will be treated to a spa to take care of those sore muscles of yesterday’s climb.

Transfer to Ubud, as the cultural capital of Bali, a very interesting non-diving destination. During the trip we make a stop at Sidemen, a traditional weaving village amidst stunning rice fields and at Goa Gajah, the elephant temple. Check in at your hotel, Arma Resort, one of the biggest representatives of Balinese culture on the Island, with the big Arma Museum attached. You can visit the museum and later you will appreciate a complimentary traditional dance performance, a spectacular and colorful event, always accompanied by a live gamelan orchestra.

Breakfast at your hotel. Choose one of the following activities: discover the beautiful surroundings of Ubud while cycling or trekking, watch the exotic birds of Asia in the Bali Bird Park, pamper yourself with a spa treatment given by the professional hands of your therapist, learn more about the culture of Bali by joining a cultural workshop, discover new spices and tastes by joining an Indonesian cooking class or be amazed by the landscape while rafting the Ayung river. The choice really is yours.

No planned activities this morning. Have a long sleep or enjoy Ubud’s beautiful boutiques for buying souvenirs, silver, cloths or artifacts. After lunch we move to our last diving area and base ourselves five nights at Alila Resort, where, it is said, Mick Jagger stayed once. In the afternoon we visit Tenganan, a “Bali Aga” village of traditional Balinese people and home of the exquisite “double ikat” weaving. In the evening you do not have to leave your hotel as the Alila Seasalt restaurant is considered one of Bali’s finest restaurants, with focus on the East Bali cuisine. We offer you tonight a romantic diner. Bon appetite and good night!

After off-gassing during your two days of non-diving it is time to get in the water again. Your two morning dives in Blue Lagoon or Tanjung Sari delivers easy diving in a shallow area, not so rich in coral growth but with an amazing number of special critters and different species of shark. You can have a complimentary night dive as well here, because it is a terrific night dive site.

You will visit the ancient Kertha Gosha, the Court House of the old kingdom, in Klungkung. You will visit The Gunarsa Museum of Classical and Modern Art that features many elements of Balinese Artistic and cultural heritage. Then see Goa Lawah (Bat Cave), a temple built in front of a cave inhabited by thousand of bats.

Meet each other for lunch. The afternoon you can spend together in the hotel or let us assist you for some optional activity.

You will do two boat dives around Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Penida. The water is colder here (5mm wetsuit!) and the dives can be challenging. You have a chance to encounter the illustrious Mola Mola (especially from mid August to mid October). Typically the dives have stunning visibility, healthy reefs and pelagics.

In the morning you visit the water palace in Tirtagangga, a lovely maze of pools and fountains surround by a lush garden and stone carvings and statues. Afterwards hike through the rice fields. This is a great area of Bali in which to walk, with many small roads and paths to explore.

Another two boat dives around Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Penida are on the program today with lunch on the boat. Maybe we can give does Mantas a go…

You could join the boat to Penida for snorkeling or choose for terra firma, and explore Nusa Penida with an experienced guide by motorbike. Long time ago the island of Nusa Penida was used as prison island to house convicts of the mighty Gelgel dynasty during their early 18th century rule under the Majapahit (or Madjapahit).

After the diving, a massage is what awaits you both.

DAY 15: CANDIDASA (3 dives)

Today is your last day of diving and you will finish in style. The diving in this area is astonishingly rich, but has also very strong currents and cool water (5mm wetsuit!). You will do three dives in Amuk Bay, Candidasa. Depending on the conditions (e.g. currents) you will dive around the small islands of Tepekong, Mimpang or Biaha. You and your dive guide will take a speedboat from Padang Bai to reach the different dive sites in Candidasa. There is plenty of choice in Amuk Bay and the dive sites are very varied. Lunch is between the dives.

After an early morning breakfast you will experience first hand the East Bali cooking with Alila’s renowned cooking class. The Alila Manggis Cooking School is where the team of chefs celebrates and share with you the true essence of the Balinese lifestyle through fascinating culinary adventures. After souvering your own prepared lunch you can let us take you out snorkeling, or be pampered with a complete treatment at the Alila spa.

Breakfast at your hotel and morning transfer to the south, to Sanur. Check in your hotel Griya Santrian in Sanur. Visit the temple of Uluwatu in the afternoon with our guide and see the fire dance while the sun is going down. You will be treated to a famous fresh fish barbecue on the beach of Jimbaran. Sweet dreams on your last night in the “Morning of the world”.

Before you leave the island of the gods, and us, we meet again for a departure drink with dive guide, tour leader and driver/guide on land.

Transfer to the airport and we wish you a very good and safe trip home, with plenty of beautiful colourful memories.
