17 days/16 nights complete “nothing but diving” around Bali diving holiday.
11 diving days, (34 dives), 6 non-diving days, land activities and land tours.
This is a SAMPLE itinerary,
a 17 days’ trip to show what we believe would be a great holiday for you. However, you can ask us to compose your very own “a la carte” holiday. You love a good drift or you prefer to concentrate on muck diving. You are an underwater photographer or you want to do some exploration diving.
You name it, we take care of it.
DAY 1: WELCOME – SEMINYAK
Meet and greet at Ngurah Rai Airport of Denpasar Bali upon your arrival and transfer to The Seri Suites in Seminyak. Welcome drink with your dive guide (dive-master or instructor), your tour leader and your driver. Enjoy a good night’s rest.
DAY 2: SEMINYAK – PEMUTERAN
Today you travel to Pemuteran, your first Dive around Bali-destination. You take advantage of the long journey to visit some gorgeous and interesting farming areas and you will enjoy the spectacular, famous rice terrace views of Bali. Check in at your hotel in Pemuteran, a small laid back fishing village on the northern coast of West Bali. Mimpi Resort Menjangan is set on the shore of a lagoon-like bay in the northwestern coast of Bali neighboring the Bali Barat National Park and the famous diving site of Menjangan Island. To tune you in to the tropical rhythm, we treat you to a massage. Tomorrow morning your ‘nothing but diving’ adventure really begins.
DAY 3: PEMUTERAN – MENJANGAN (3 dives)
Lets go diving! Today’s program is a day trip to the national marine park of Menjangan Island. You are off for three boat dives around the island. There are about fourteen dive sites to choose from, all with clear water and calm conditions. Lunch is on the boat in between the dives. Later you can visit the turtle hatchery in Pemuteran, a Reef Seen Aquatics project with the local village to help the plight of sea turtles.
DAY 4: PEMUTERAN – MENJANGAN (2 dives) – GILIMANUK (2 dives)
Another trip to the national marine park of Menjangan Island, for two more boat dives in the morning. After lunch we are off to discover Secret Bay, a bit funny to call this bay a secret though. Gilimanuk is where the ferry to and from Java lands, the bay is amongst the best-mapped parts of Bali’s inshore waters and this peculiar muck dive site is known since many years.
DAY 5: PEMUTERAN – AMED (3 dives)
Today you will start early in the morning on your way to the east. The first dive is close to Lovina: Puri Jati, a quiet recently discovered phenomenal muck dive site. Second and third dive will be on Monkey Reef in Kubu, just before Tulamben. After the dives you continue your journey further east towards Amed, a charming little fishing village. Your accommodation for the next couple of days will be Puri Wirata.
DAY 6: AMED (3/4 dives)
Today you will dive around Amed, from a small jukung (the traditional, colorful, little fishing boat), an interesting area with great potential and few divers. Bunutan is actually the name of the village in front of this very special dive site. The second dive will be on Jemeluk Wall, a reef slope combined with a wall at the site of the quiet and idyllic Jemeluk bay. There is always a possibility for a pelagic encounter here. Third dive on Kungkang Reef, a dive on a slope with a unique artificial reef on the sandy bottom. Complimentary 4th dive: a night dive from the shore.
DAY 7: AMED – TULAMBEN (3/4 dives)
Early in the morning, you will travel towards Tulamben, home to the world famous Liberty Wreck. The wreck is a very popular dive site, but still rewarding, especially because we will dive it before the other divers arrive. Second dive will be on Tulamben’s Drop Off, a wall with a nice craggy structure that is exceedingly rich. Third dive will be at Paradise Reef, a beautiful coral garden and muck dive site in one. Complimentary fourth dive: a night dive on the Liberty Wreck. Lunch is in Tulamben in between the dives.
DAY 8: AMED (3/4 dives)
Another day of diving in the Tulamben area. Dive Batu Kelibit and Alam Anda. On your way back to Amed, discover Cafe Garam, an interesting muck dive site accessible from the beach. This site is still unspoiled, and few divers venture here. We like to keep it tat way. One dive wasn’t enough to count the stonefish and mimics? Go in again for a late afternoon or night dive.
DAY 9: AMED – UBUD (2 dives)
Your two last dives in the Amed area. Depending on conditions we dive two sites called Deep Blue and the Japanese shipwreck. Or we can go to do two dives in Seraya Secrets: a notorious muck diving site with seahorse, frogfish, harlequin shrimp and a great number of nudibranch species.
Transfer to Ubud, as the cultural capital of Bali, a very interesting non-diving destination. During the trip we make a stop at Sidemen, a traditional weaving village amidst stunning rice fields and at Goa Gajah, the elephant temple. Check in at your hotel Tjampuhan, the first hotel in the artisan district of Ubud, providing traditional Balinese-style accommodation and healing spa treatments since 1928. Enjoy a traditional dance performance, a spectacular and colorful event, always accompanied by a live gamelan orchestra.
DAY 10: UBUD
Choose your favorit activity: discover the beautiful surroundings of Ubud while cycling or trekking, watch the exotic birds of Asia in the Bali Bird Park, learn more about the culture of Bali by joining a cultural workshop, discover new spices and tastes by joining an Indonesian cooking class or be amazed by the landscape while rafting the Ayung river. The choice really is yours.
DAY 11: UBUD – CANDIDASA
No planned activities this morning. Have a long sleep or enjoy Ubud’s beautiful boutiques for buying souvenirs, silver, cloths or artifacts. After lunch we move to our last diving area and base ourselves five nights at Alam Asmara. In the afternoon we visit Tenganan, a “Bali Aga” village of traditional Balinese people.
DAY 12: CANDIDASA – PADANG BAI (3 dives)
After off-gassing during your two days of non-diving it is time to get in the water again. Blue Lagoon or Tanjung Sari delivers easy diving in a shallow area, not so rich in coral growth but with an amazing number of special critters and different species of shark. You can have a night dive as well here, because it is a terrific night dive site.
DAY 13: CANDIDASA – NUSA PENIDA (2 dives)
You will do two boat dives around Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Penida. The water is colder here (5mm wetsuit!) and the dives can be challenging. You have a chance to encounter the illustrious Mola Mola (especially from mid August to mid October). Typically the dives have stunning visibility, healthy reefs and pelagics. Lunch is between the dives.
After the diving, a one-hour full body massage is what awaits you.
DAY 14: CANDIDASA – NUSA PENIDA (2 dives)
Worthwhile going back for more: another two dives around Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Penida. Maybe let’s give those Manta’s a go…
DAY 15: CANDIDASA (3 dives)
Today is your last day of diving and you will finish in style. The diving in this area is astonishingly rich, but has also very strong currents and cool water (5mm wetsuit!). You will do three dives in Amuk Bay, Candidasa. Depending on the conditions (e.g. currents) you will dive around the small islands of Tepekong, Mimpang or Biaha. You and your dive guide will take a speedboat from Padang Bai to reach the different dive sites in Candidasa. There is plenty of choice in Amuk Bay and the dive sites are very varied. Lunch is between the dives.
DAY 16: CANDIDASA – SANUR
In the morning, you travel to the south, to Sanur. Check in your hotel Griya Santrian. Visit the temple of Uluwatu in the afternoon with and see the fire dance while the sun is going down. You will be treated to a famous fresh fish barbecue on the beach of Jimbaran. Sweet dreams on your last night in the “Morning of the world”.
DAY 17: GOODBYE
Before you leave the island of the gods, we meet again for a departure drink with your tour leader. Transfer to the airport and we wish you a very good and safe trip home, with plenty of beautiful, colourful memories.
